WSC Fun Experience

On the first day of the practice for the World Scholar’s Cup last May 5, it was nerve-racking. My heart was racing, but it was a fun experience. Even though it was hard, I already felt excited. I couldn’t stop thinking how it would go.

There were downsides, but the most important thing was to have fun and learn new knowledge even if I win or lose. I had so much fun with my teammates and the best time of WSC was the team debate and scholars challenge and I even made new friends from different schools.

On the day of the WSC last May 6, it was the best day of my life ever. Me and my teammates felt so honored as we participated in the WSC. For the scholar’s bowl, most of the questions were easy, but there were hard questions as well. When the results were announced,  I saw my name on the screen to get the medal, and I even got an Alpaca.

At the closing ceremony when they put the names of students who will receive medals, I already saw mine. However, after so long I didn’t see my name again. It turned out that I only got one medal. I felt sad and heartbroken until I saw my team number on the screen for additional qualifiers.

I was so excited to tell my mom, I couldn’t stop thinking how I qualified for the WSC Global Rounds. When I saw  my team number in the additional qualifiers, I was hyped. My heart literally stopped for a second. My jaw dropped. It felt the best.

When I went home and told my mom that I qualified, she looked so happy and proud. The best thing was when I got home, I saw my mom watching the closing ceremony. It felt like a blessing. I felt so grateful.

I felt I haven’t been doing my best and my preparation for the WSC Global Round, it’s just a lot to take in after I qualified. I hope I will do well. I can’t  wait for what will happen next.
