Grade 3’s Field Trip to Godong Ijo

By: Alisha

On August 7, 2024, my class visited Godong Ijo, a place full of plants and animals. The trip was exciting because we got to learn outside our classroom.

At Godong Ijo, we learned how to plant and care for plants so they can be healthy. The staff there showed us the importance of giving plants water, sunlight, and the right kind of soil for them to grow.

We also learned about animals. We discovered that they need special places to live and protect themselves from danger, like how a lizard can lose its tail to escape a predator.

Our field trip experiences were all related to our central idea for the first unit of inquiry, which is “Over time, living things need to adapt in order to survive.” This field trip helped us understand this better because we saw how plants and animals have special ways to stay alive.

We had a fantastic time at Godong Ijo. I hope we get to go on another field trip soon!
